Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 
Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Human Resources with accountability to the Hospital Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resource Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the facility(s) Human Resource function.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Plans, organizes and oversees all activities of the department.  Establishes priorities and insures processes are efficient and effective.  Meets established deadlines.
  • Provides supervision and leadership for assigned Human Resource and Employee Health personnel including selection, training, development, and performance management.
  • Accurately administers personnel and company policies and procedures.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of current employment law and regulations including the areas of benefits, compensation and employee relations to assess situations and provide appropriate direction and recommendations.
  • Provides recommendation for the department’s budget, goals and objectives.  Monitors, identifies areas for improvement and implements corrections as needed to insure metrics are achieved.
  • Implements and monitors the compensation program.  Ensures compliance with established compensation guidelines.  Coordinates with the Regional Vice President and other HR Market leaders to analyze compensation and advance recommendations for modification based on market conditions. 
  • Oversees the effectiveness of the recruitment, new hire and on-boarding process.    Participates in the development and assessment of recruitment strategies.  Ensures a New Employee Orientation program that is welcoming, effective and meets regulatory and compliance standards. 
  • Oversees the administration of leave and disability programs.  Maintains a collaborative relationship with 3rd party administrator.
  • Oversees the preparation of various reports as assigned.  Evaluates data (such as turnover, exit interviews) and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of internal training.
  • Maintains facility(s) Affirmative Action Program.  Ensures accurate data is collected and provided to Corporate for reporting purposes.  Monitors and reports progress toward identified goals.
  • Facilitates employee relations concerns and conflicts to appropriate resolution.  Maintains a Just Culture environment. 
  • Represents the department and the organization at various internal meetings and legal proceedings.  Collaborates effectively with Corporate Legal Department. 


Qualifications

SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least five years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Manager in a hospital setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of relevant federal, state and local regulations relating to Human Resources, i.e. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, ADA, FMLA.
  • High degree of competency with Human Resources Information Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to exercise independent judgment in the completion of assignments and duties.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Sound, ethical judgment.
  • Forward thinker with ability to strategically plan, organize, implement, evaluate and assess.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees
EDUCATION OR SPECIFIC TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Management preferred.
  • PHR certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS NEEDED:
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
